Conference - Focus on Microscopy

Conference from the seies of Focus on Microscopy 2006 took place in Perth, (western) Australia from Sunday April 9th to Wednesday April 12, 2006.

Prof. Karsten König, Professor of a Chair at the University of Saarland and the department director at the Franhofer Institute of Biomedical Technology, St. Ingbert, has been elected as the vice-president of the Scientific Society of Laser Technology (Wissenschaftlichen Gesellschaft Lasertechnik e.V.- WLT)  on March 16. About 40 members of the Society represent the optical institutes of Fraunhofer society, Max-Plank-Institute, Leibniz- and Helmholtz society, as well as universities. The WLT works out and advocates the references and promotions for German and European research institutions, awards prices and is the cofounder of the international “Laser-Messen”.

Prof. König will direct the branch of live-science the deals with biotechnology, biology and medicine. Germany is on of the leading countries in the filed of laser- and medical technology.
